Tea at the Rose Garden Tea Room | Fort Wayne Photographer

Last week was Tea Time at the Rose Garden Tea Room in Huntington for my soon-to-be sister-in-law's bridal shower.

The Rose Garden Tea Room was a wonderful place to have a bridal shower!  It is beautiful!

And...so is Shelly

Rockin' her hat like a true tea party goer.

And speaking of looking good...

Just look at those legs!

(Sorry if I made you blush, Shelly!  All that work at the gym is worth it!)

I hope my brother knows how lucky he is having this hottie as his bride!

Mimosas for bridal showers = genius!

Lovely ladies!

We are so lucky to have Shelly as part of our family.

My brother has good taste.

Only 43 more days until the big day!

Baby Grady | Fort Wayne Newborn Photographer

I love hearing stories from mothers,

the story of the hours surrounding

the birth of their child.

The only way every birth story is the same, is that each story is different.

Grady's birth story was unique as ever.

And here he is...

Mom and Dad are smitten.

How could you not be smitten?

With great grandpa looking on...

Best Wishes to the Kolter family!

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!

Cubs Love; A Family Affair | Fort Wayne Photographer

It has been quite some time since I first met the members of this family.  Our families have known each other for a while.  My sister-in-law used to watch their kids when they were younger.  Our oldest daughters are the same age and they seem to really hit it off.

I always thought they had to be cool because they were Cubs fans.

We were lucky last summer and our oldest girls were on the same All-Star team for softball.  That meant we spent lots of time together.

I've always loved Grace.  To me, Grace and my daughter seemed so much alike.  I am grateful for all of my daughter's good friends - and I am very grateful for Grace.  I love that every time she sees me, she gives me a wave and a big smile.  Awesomeness.

And then there is Lilly...

I just love this child.

I cannot get over her awesome personality.

She also waves to me every time she sees me,

but this week she stepped it up even...

and gave me a hug when I saw her.

Melt!

Good thing she isn't my child...she would know exactly how to get what she wants from me!

She's bubbly.

She's sweet.

She eats frozen pickle juice.

How awesome is that?!

I might secretly wish I get one of these girls for a daughter-in-law some day...but I won't hold my breath!  These girls will be beating boys off with sticks if they aren't already!

I'm extra lucky again this year to have our daughters on the same team this summer.

So I get to look forward to lots of good conversation on the bleachers and cheering on the girls...and watching Lilly eat pickle slush.

And I am sure you will be seeing more of them on the blog in May!

Happy Friday!

Enjoy those that make you smile :)

Family Dogs | Fort Wayne Photographer

It's been so beautiful here.  We have been lucky to have many sunny days so far this year.

I've been meaning to get outside with the dogs to get some photos,

especially since baby Miles (from our litter) will be leaving this month

to go live with his mommy, Kristi Toliver, in California.

Lucky.

Presenting the Team Puppy for the L.A. Sparks!

He looks just like his mom, but I can tell he has a lot of his dad in him too.

*

Here's mom...

She doesn't like having her picture taken.  She gives me the "angry ears" when I break out the camera at first...or maybe she is posing, I can't tell.

My husband and I were just talking about how she is the dog of many looks.

And then there is Mumbles.

He loves having his picture taken...but wants to get realllly close to you when you are trying.

He is getting better at Sit & Stay all the time.

I did learn my lesson today with the dogs though.

It's easier to take their pictures with the hubby around.  :)

Hope everyone gets a moment to go outside and enjoy this beautiful day too!

Gold won’t bring you happiness when you’re growing old

In November we were able to attend a family wedding in Florida.

I had missed too many family weddings and I promised myself I wouldn't miss another family wedding again.

I promised myself that because I knew if I missed the weddings, I would miss things like this:

This is my step Dad singing Dean Martin's You're Nobody til Somebody Loves You.

I know I take a lot of things in my life for granted.

This is one of those things.

Not everyone has a dad that can just belt out something like this!

I'm glad I didn't miss it.
