Hey batter, batter!
We wrapped up another season of softball last night.
I should say regular season - because we still have All-Star games to play.
It was a bittersweet night.
We had a really great coach this year
and the girls seemed to have a really great time, even with the rough year we had.
They lost 1 - 18 last night. ouch.
Our coach had a great idea to have a surprise game - Girls vs Parents on Sunday.
The thought of playing softball made my stomach turn a little. I feel like I don't have an athletic bone in my body. It might be a
little like gym class in high school. painful.
Thankfully, my husband stepped up to the plate (every pun intended) and said he would play.
He's a good sport like that...again, every pun intended.
Since he volunteered, it got me off the hook. psheeeeew!
and...it seems like he had much more fun than I would have had.
Alyssa treated it like any other game.
Kick butt as much as possible.
I cannot wait to see her in action with the All-Star team. All-Star games are a different sort of monster. A different sort of fun.
Intense.
I think my favorite part of the day was watching her cover her dad on 3rd base.
With a smile on even...probably because he was talking trash...and she loves that.
One thing is for sure, this girl's attitude is the best, especially when it comes to softball.
Maybe not so much when her mom is constantly taking pictures of her. "How many pictures are you going to TAKE??!!"
As many as I want, because I love you and can't get enough. :)
The game was a success.
Thank you coaches for everything you do - for all of the time you put into teaching our kids, your patients, understanding, and willingness to do what others won't is greatly appreciated. Without you, we wouldn't have teams for our kids to play on and that is so very important to their development and childhood.
Now....
on to All-Stars.
