Last year a good friend and local photographer asked me if I wanted to document her time as a surrogate parent. I was more than excited to do it, especially to photograph the birth. Being a mom, I know how amazing birth is, but I had only experienced it from the point of giving birth, not watching.
It's no easy task to ask a pregnant woman if she would like to be photographed during birth. When I was pregnant I warned people to not snap pictures of me. At my young age when I first had children, I couldn't grasp that I was indeed a beautiful pregnant woman. Looking back, I wish I had. Being pregnant is a miracle, you are avessel for life. Giving birth, well...that is a whole different miracle. I wanted to give other moms the opportunity of being able to look back at those memories, that over time could be forgotten because, let's face it - there is so much going on during birth.
Hailey gave me that opportunity again recently. I was so excited to do it. Her family is a friend of our family, so it was extra special. Being a mom, it is amazing to watch another woman give birth. I was there, silently pushing with her, silently cheering her on through her hour of pushing...
And close to 2:23 am...their little boy made his way into this world.
And it was love at first site...
Thank you, Hailey, for letting me experience that again and document you being AMAZING!
Congratulations Hailey & Shelby, Mr Ryatt is just the sweetest thing!
I was recently approached about having one of my photos used for a flyer for an event being held in New York City. After finding out what event my photo would be sponsoring, I was thrilled.
Melaney Ryan is going to speak at the Unifying The Minds Seminar. Melaney is a fourth generation energy worker with over 30 years of clinical experience as an energy therapist. She is the founder of the Australian StillPoint Institute and developer of Integrated Therapeutic Alignment (ITA) and Mahat Meditation.
Mahat Meditation, founded by Melaney Ryan, is an active meditation practice that builds inner force and accelerates our personal evolution. Rather than simply emptying the mind or visualizing tranquil imagery, we are utilizing chi to activate the chakras in a specific sequence while integrating color and sound.
Integrated Therapeutic Alignment (ITA) releases the dominance of the sub-conscious mind, restores our systems to a balanced state and brings us into alignment with our higher selves.
By identifying the root cause of an imbalance and locating and balancing the areas where this root cause is stored, ITA is able to achieve lasting results.
ITA is highly effective in transforming all aspects of emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health and works as a complement to all existing methods of health care.
Some of the conditions successfully treated through ITA include…
Chemotherapy and radiotherapy side effects
Gastro Intestinal/digestive imbalance
Problems with fertility and conception
Emotional and spiritual benefits achieved through ITA include…
Balancing limiting core beliefs and conditioning patterns
Releasing grief and trauma
Clarity and purpose in life
Awakening the connection to your higher self .
Of course, I couldn't pass up an excuse to go to New York, so I am looking forward to attending the Unifying the Minds Seminar.
