"I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth, then I ask myself the same question.”  -Harun Yahya

subject:

view from your desk

Well...my office is currently my bed.

It works well,

however,

I don't have a view from my bed.

Nothing I would like to post.

SO

instead I took a picture of my "office space".

How unexciting is that??

It might not be exciting

but

it is comfy.

Yes, those are bags of candy

Reese's Hearts...thank goodness for holiday candy sales

and

mini chewy (yes, they have to be mini chewies) Sweetarts.

Sweets are required when work is in order.

tomorrow's subject: flying (I've been looking forward to this one)

Christmas List

Day 11

subject:

a note from your child

I thought Christmas lists might be the most important notes I receive from my kids.

fort-wayne-photographer-note-52-week-photo-project2web

These babies aren't easy to get a hold of either,

so they are rare items.

I will never know why it is like pulling teeth to get a list of wants from children.

Does their list of wants end?

I do love looking at their lists;

their wants

and hopes for Christmas morning.

There is always an outlandish request

like

gymnastics poll.

The outlandish requests once were trampolines and laptops.

Items that warm my heart:

buckeyes

and

cookies.

That means

homemade

from me.

I loved buckeyes as a child

and

I make kick ass buckeyes as an adult.

Huddled Masses

Day 10 of 365 photos/365 days

today's subject:

dramatic black and white.

I had a couple photos in mind for today's subject.

When I looked at them, I though this would be a good one

because

Lady Liberty is pretty dramatic.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Emma Lazarus, "The New Colossus" (1883)

However, when looking through my photos from New York City, I found a few more that I found "dramatic" and I am going to break the "rules" and share these as well.

This breaks my heart every time I stumble upon it.

Day Eight of Three Hundred and Sixty Five

today's subject: a map

When I saw what today's subject was, I immediately knew what streets my map was going to show.

It is one of my favorite places to be,

my obsession.

Let's hear it for New York...

These streets will make you feel brand new

Bright lights will inspire you.

I love New York!

subject: sun flare

ummmm...hmmmmm...

sun flare?

Well, the sun hasn't peeked it's beautiful head out in a couple days...

so I have this lieu of sun flare.

The subject for day 7: the book you most recently finished.

fort-wayne-photographer-book-52-week-photo-project2web

I read this with my four-year-old Friday night for the first time.

The best part was, I didn't realize until half way through the first story

that I was reading the parts of Frog and Toad

in my best British accent.

I love Brits.

And I love Frog and Toad.

Happy Sunday!

It is the only heart shaped nature thing I found...

right in my own bedroom.

Happy Friday!

Lipstick

Keys

and a shopping list for homemade taco seasoning.

Nothing too exciting, however the recipe for the taco seasoning is great

and there are no chemicals in this recipe.

Here it is:

1/2 cup chili powder

1/4 cup onion powder

1/8 cup cumin

1 Tablespoon garlic powder

1 Tablespoon paprika

1 Tablespoon sea salt

I double this recipe and it fills a mason jar.

Use 2-3 Tablespoons as you would one package of store bought taco seasoning.

And there is your random tidbit for today.
