Baby bump

Earlier this year I wrote that it is the year of babies.  I was not wrong.  One of my favorite moms is due again soon.  They are having another girl, which is so exciting since Caitlyn will be a big sister and can show her the diva ways.  This family is so fun, another baby is just added goodness.

Harrison & Arya

My niece and nephew twins are almost a month old already.  They are still itty bitty goodness topped with sunshine and sparkles.  Just ask grandma and grandpa. 

In a recent blog write up here, I wrote about how photography isn't easy.  It isn't about picking up a camera that is easily worth more than the first car I drove, pointing, and shooting.  During this impromptu mini session over this weekend my parents learned this little lesson.  My mom actually told me after the session "I thought it would just take ten minutes..."

I am still laughing over that comment. 

The twins did an excellent job...and hearing lines from the show New Girl coming from the other room was nice comic relief. 

 

Here is little Harrison.  He seems to be the one in my arms most often.  Cuddle bug.

Which isn't a surprise.  Just look at her, she is darling!

Twins

My brother and his wife had twins almost two weeks ago.  They were a month early, but they are doing great!

Congratulations, Tyler & Shelly!  Harrison and Arya are absolutely beautiful and perfect.  You guys did an awesome job!  Welcome to Parenthood.  Love you guys!

Wright Family

Being a photographer is not an easy job.  I know it might look like all I have to do is point, shoot, and voila...pictures.  Not.that.easy.

The best part of my job is when I have clients that make the shooting process easier.  Not only is it easier, we laugh, we joke, we have a good time.  Relaxed. 

This family does that for me.  I love them.

They are all smiles and all listening all the time.  It was like they were born to have family pictures taken.  Or maybe mom threatens their lives before they see me...whatever it is, I am grateful.  :)

Summer is here to stay

Who doesn't like playing in water on a hot summer day?

Little Beau didn't mind getting a little wet. 

Taking pictures of him is such a treat for me.  I have known his family since I was little, they are like family to me.  He looks just like his mom.  What a cutie! 

The water was the only thing got him to stand still, away from that, he was a mover and a shaker.  He was in a good mood though, and that is really all I ask for in a child. 

Happy first birthday, Beau!  Thank you, Dan and Amy, for being good friends and allowing me to hang out with you for a little bit to get some pictures of your little man.  {Looking forward to the next one!}

Tattoo Time

My darling roommate, Chloe, informed me recently that she wanted to get another tattoo.  You might remember seeing her first tattoo here.  This time she wanted to get a quote tattooed on her ribs.  The quote was read in a scene from Patch Adams.  It's very touching and the placement is fitting.  She invited me to go with her.  Of course, I had to document the outing.

Both Chloe and Matt Carmer from New Republic Tattoo did an amazing job.  Chloe took the tattoo to the ribs like a champ.  Matt just did what he does best.  It looks amazing.

Maybe someday I will find something that I like enough to put on my body for the rest of my life.  Until then, I will see what Chloe decides her next one will be. 

Class of 2013

For many in the area, this is the last week of school.  The school year seemed to fly by.  This school year I was fortunate to photograph two very lovely ladies who will be graduating in the next week or two.  I graduated with these girls' moms from high school.  I feel very privileged to take their senior pictures.  I can't believe it is now their time to graduate; to go off in the world and do something wonderful. 

 

When I met with Janea to photograph her, we talked about what she was doing and where she was heading.  She was already done with school in January and has already completed a semester in college.  She beamed with pride telling me this, and I couldn't help but mirror her enthusiasm.

She is not only beautiful, but smart.  Very smart. 

I could tell she is ready to get on with life, ready to take on the real world.

Maybe it is because I am a mom.

Maybe it is because she is a daughter of a friend.

But I couldn't help but be proud of her and excited to see what she is going to do in the future.

Grady 1 year

One of my very favorite things about this job is being able to watch kids grow and change.  Close to this time last year, I was taking this cutie pie's newborn pictures.  So much changes in a year...except his cuteness...

that obviously does not change.

I had the pleasure hanging out with his family this weekend.  They are a blast!  Grady is all boy.  His mom was kept busy, fishing gravel and anything else he could find out of his mouth.  I still say boys are easier than girls.  :)

Janea

I met this beautiful young lady when she was a baby.  I told her I even have a picture of us together when she was just a few months old.  I can't believe how the time has flown and I am not sure where it has gone, but she is a senior in high school this year.  As a matter of fact, she already graduated in January and has taken some college classes.  My heart swells for her parents.  What a great kid!
