Are you ready for some football?!

This sweetie pie is ready for some football.

Colts football!

What is her favorite toy?

A stuffed Colts football.

She loves throwing it and I think I have seen her give the touchdown sign.

I got to hang out with sweet Madison Paige last week.

What a sweetie!

Blowing kisses....

She takes time to stop and smell the roses

and reflect....

as daddy stood just out of the shot just in case she wanted to go for a swim too.

First Look – Jen + Bill

Not long ago I heard that brides and grooms were doing a "first look",

first look at each other right before the wedding.

No waiting to see each other at the alter.

At first I thought I wouldn't want to do this myself,

too late for all of that of course...but, would I have wanted to?

No way!  There is something about not seeing each other until that point that's....

*this is where you think seeing each other at that moment is just wonderful and magical*

...but really I don't remember actually looking at Josh during our wedding.  Not actually appreciating that moment at least.

Do you remember any of that moment as a bride??

I remember my heart pounding in my ears,

hating all of the attention on me...

wondering if my dad and I were walking down the aisle too fast...

and Lord, please don't let me pass out - those were the thoughts going through my head.

I was not soaking in the moment.  That is what made me realize - a "first look" before the ceremony would have been wonderful.

When Jenny told me that her and Bill wanted to do a first look with each other excited me.  I was going to have front seat tickets

to watch two fantastic people experience their first look.

They didn't disappoint.

Beautiful, Jen

And now I'm convinced that first looks are fantastic!

Congratulations, Jen and Bill!

More photos to come soon!

Moord Family Time

I love to watch cousins hanging out together.

I think a cousin bond is an awesome one.

Cousins are usually close in age, related - but have the bonus of not being siblings.

They know the family dynamic

they know how great the family is

and how crazy the family is.

Cousins are life long friends.

I love watching the dynamic of the extended Moord family

there are usually a lot of smiles involved.

Deep conversations....

And who knows...maybe even a middle finger :)

And always at least one person trying to catch a little shut eye

It was great seeing you all!

July 4th

This weekend has been so fabulous.

I can only think that we would not be able to celebrate

such great times

with great people

if it weren't for those that have fought for our freedom,

the ones that still fight - who give their everything for us

and the ones that are no longer with us - that gave their lives for us.

We are grateful.

This weekend I was able to spend time with family and friends and I have a lot of pictures to go through and edit.

This one might be my favorite though.

I love watching cousins play and spend time together - especially when there are long distances between them.

I know how important it is to me and my cousins.  :)

We were lucky to celebrate the marriage of Lexi Christoules and Jason Chaput this weekend.  It was a wonderful

opportunity for the extended families to get together, spend time, and have fun.

Congratultions, Mr and Mrs Chaput!  You are a wonderful couple and we all wish you the very best.

Thank you, veterans and service men and women for allowing us to celebrate the love of the family.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Be safe!

Puppy Love x 2

A portion of last night was spent outside with our dogs.

We have 2 blue Pitbulls, Evey and Mumbles, and an English Mastiff, Mattie...

The Meat...

Meaterton...

Meatilicious...whatever you want to call her.

The Meat made a small appearance and then went back inside

to assume the usual position in the kitchen as our live bear skin rug.

If you aren't a Pitbull fan - I wasn't either.  I wanted a bulldog.  Little did I know that most ads for bulldogs on line are scams.

Weird, right?  But my heart was set on a bulldog and I even thought we were going to get one - and that ended up being a scam.

Don't people have better things to do with their time - like get a real job?

Anyway, my brother-in-law, Zach, found a great breeder and hooked us up with him.  We looked on line and I picked Evey out of the group of available pups after my husband had picked another.  I called him and asked him if we could get this other dog instead.  I think Zach was glad to hear that because he ended up getting the original dog my husband picked and named her Cash.  I'm not sure if I have loved another person's dog more than I love Cash.  She is a sweetheart, just like Evey.

Which brings me to my point that these dogs are the sweetest dogs I have ever met.  They listen well and are great with kids.

They used to be referred to as the "nanny dog" because they are so good with children.  So if you aren't a fan of pitbulls, give them a chance.

Bad owners make bad dogs...just a thought.

But that is enough talking from the soap box for today.

This is our sweet Evey dog.

She rarely holds still for photos.  Even when she seems like she might, she turns her head as if she were avoiding the paparazzi.

So last night was a rare treat for me.

What you don't see is Josh standing off to the side giving her the "just a minute/stay" sign.  She listens so well.  It's pretty fantastic.

Mumbles on the other hand will let me take his photo if I can take it fast enough and then get out of the way when he comes bounding toward me.

We got Mumbles last year because we considered breeding them.  At least that is why I wanted him.  Josh is just smitten with

Pitbulls.  I'm glad we got him.  As much as he drives me nuts, licking me every chance he gets - he is warm and affectionate and great with our kids.

Always by dad's side.

Both of them always want to be by Josh's side.  Always.  There might even be dog sobbing from inside if they are in bed and Josh goes outside to mow.

babies.

I know this next picture isn't sharp, but it does show the undeniable truth of the title Man's Best Friend.

My brother-in-law, Tim, recently said that having a dog is one of the closest things you can get to God.  A dog's love is

unconditional.  (not an exact quote, I'm sure.  sorry, Tim.)  :)

I am happy we have them.

They are fun and there is never a dull moment with them.

And hopefully....they will be our momma and papa dogs soon.

Hey batter, batter!

We wrapped up another season of softball last night.

I should say regular season - because we still have All-Star games to play.

It was a bittersweet night.

We had a really great coach this year

and the girls seemed to have a really great time, even with the rough year we had.

They lost 1 - 18 last night.  ouch.

Our coach had a great idea to have a surprise game - Girls vs Parents on Sunday.

The thought of playing softball made my stomach turn a little.  I feel like I don't have an athletic bone in my body.  It might be a

little like gym class in high school.  painful.

Thankfully, my husband stepped up to the plate (every pun intended) and said he would play.

He's a good sport like that...again, every pun intended.

Since he volunteered, it got me off the hook.  psheeeeew!

and...it seems like he had much more fun than I would have had.

Alyssa treated it like any other game.

Kick butt as much as possible.

I cannot wait to see her in action with the All-Star team.  All-Star games are a different sort of monster.  A different sort of fun.

Intense.

I think my favorite part of the day was watching her cover her dad on 3rd base.

With a smile on even...probably because he was talking trash...and she loves that.

One thing is for sure, this girl's attitude is the best, especially when it comes to softball.

Maybe not so much when her mom is constantly taking pictures of her.  "How many pictures are you going to TAKE??!!"

As many as I want, because I love you and can't get enough.  :)

The game was a success.

Thank you coaches for everything you do - for all of the time you put into teaching our kids, your patients, understanding, and willingness to do what others won't is greatly appreciated.  Without you, we wouldn't have teams for our kids to play on and that is so very important to their development and childhood.

Now....

on to All-Stars.

Sumatra Orangutan

During our fantastic trip to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo this week,

we saw one of my favorite exhibits,

the Sumatra Orangutan.

He looked very content, covered up in his blanket.

Sumatra Orangutans are classified as "critically endangered"  with estimates that there are only 10,000 left world wide.

Half of the wild population of orangutans have been lost since 1950.  As a side note, I have heard we have lost a lot of things since

the 1950s - what is going on??

Orangutans come from the Mayla words 'orang' (man) and 'hutan' (of the forest).

Orangutans spend most of their time alone, except for females with their young.

That concludes your short Saturday lesson on orangutans.

As for this guy...he was either sick of looking at us...wanted his alone time

or was ready for a nap.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Who doesn't love ice cream?

Me, I don't.

My sister says it's unAmerican.

I agree.

I just can't bring myself to enjoy a cone very often.

I don't know why that is,

but I'm sure my thighs praise me for turning down the creamy goodness.

I will eat a dozen donuts though - I'll save that for another post.

My kids love ice cream.

It doesn't matter what the season,

Or if the temperature is 90 degrees or 11 degrees

Max even hides behind the stroller so he can finish part of Vinny's ice cream - in hopes that Vinny won't change his mind and want it back.

Vinny was busy with what he had...

and after we scooped the top portion of his melting ice cream into a cup for Max to finish...

he wasn't missing a thing.

*I have yet to address the toddler afro hair he is sporting these days.  I don't know what to do with it, but old ladies love it - so it looks like we are keeping it.

Happy Friday, everyone!

It’s not easy, being a tween | Fort Wayne Photographer

No...she isn't hiding from the camera like a tween.

(nice battle wounds from bike riding)

It's like totally like exhausting like being a tween in like summer.

I think the sun in the face and still being fast asleep proves -

late nights will always catch up to you.

Maybe I'm just jealous because if I do the late night thing now - I just feel like I've been hit by a truck the next day.

My unspoken promise to my kids...I will not complain to them about how much they will sleep as teenagers.

*I'm hoping to enjoy it and sleep in with them!
